Hi Me!

Someone once asked me if being a single parent was hard. Without thinking I replied “It’s as hard as being a parent with a partner. Everything is as hard as you make it.”

That’s pretty much how I feel about life.

The first thing I do in the morning:

• Wake up to NPR “Good morning this is Renee Montange”
• Pee

I’m happiest when:

• I work out
• I feel my work is meaningful
• my child sits and laughs with me.

My Shoes:

For some reason my feet have aged 50 years, I can only wear comfortable tennis shoes and ballet flats. Otherwise I get cankles.

What Wows Me:

• Being pregnant (I really love it).
• People who can take over a whole room in a genuine engaging way.

My drinks:

Red red wine and chai tea, but not together. Or maybe so….

I Love(d) watching:

Anything involving biographies. Elizabeth is one of my all time favorite movies.

What I listen to:

Better question is what don’t I listen to?! Lately, I have a strong attraction to French pop music. Especially Edith Piaf, reminds me of my grandmother.

I don’t care what they say:

Single mothers are not a drain on our economy. Assholes.

I love(d) reading:

I am not a literary giant. Anything David Sedaris will have me engrossed for hours.

I Respect:

• People who live free and without fear.
• My grandmother who totally rocked the casbah.

• Cigarettes
• Television
